INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION
A 4-week Apprenticeship program for Public Housing families.
Cohort 1 Starts on:
JANUARY 20, 2026
The Housing Authority of Kansas City (HAKC), in partnership with SeLyricSky Neighborhood Initiative Corporation, is launching a 4-week Apprenticeship Program designed to equip public housing residents with essential job-readiness skills and hands-on construction training. This program provides participants with professional development, industry certification, on-the-job experience, daily lunch, and a completion stipend-creating a direct pathway to opportunity, stability, and career growth.
The training will include:
Soft Skills
Successful Interviewing
Introduction to Construction
Builders Certification
On-the-Job training
Lunch daily
AT PROGRAM COMPLETION ATTENDEES RECEIVE:
Safety Equipment - hat, boots, etc.
Stipend provided to those individuals that attended the entire 4-week course
Time: 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
MON - THURS WEEKLY / 4 WEEKS
1st week will be Tuesday - Friday (all other weeks will be Monday - Thursday)
