HAKC Home Office

After five years downtown, the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri (HAKC) relocated its administrative and executive offices to midtown Kansas City in late 2000.

Special Master Jeffrey K. Lines stated, "We think this was an opportunity to locate in an area that will more effectively serve our clients. We believe this is a good home for us."

The HAKC move consolidated offices in a more efficient manner and the new midtown location has approximately 20,612 square feet.

Mr. Lines stated besides consolidation, the new site provides easier access via public transportation for HAKC clients, private Section 8 interview rooms, spacious lobbies and a more professional environment for employees.

"More efficient use of space, public access, employee and client parking needs and the fact that our new mid-town location is centrally located were key considerations in this decision," Lines said. The first floor serves Public Housing and Section 8 clients and the second floor houses executive and administrative offices.

The public entrance is located on the east side of the building.
